You can be sure that every piece of diamond jewellery that’s crafted by Tok Jewellers is conflict-free. This means that our diamonds are only sourced from legitimate suppliers who operate under The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, guaranteeing the highest ethical standards.
This international scheme was established and implemented by the United Nations in 2003 in an effort to eliminate the trade of conflict or ‘blood’ diamonds.
It guarantees that any imported diamonds come with government-validated Kimberly Process certificates which state that the diamonds are indeed conflict-free. So you can shop with confidence at Tok Jewellers.
Laboratory-grown diamonds are increasingly available in greater quantities, higher quality and new colours at price points that many find attractive. So, what are they and how do they differ from natural diamonds?
Laboratory-grown diamonds have essentially the same chemical, optical and physical properties and crystal structure as natural diamonds. Like natural diamonds, they are made of tightly-bonded carbon atoms. They sparkle in the same way and are just as hard and durable as natural diamonds. The main differences between laboratory-grown and natural diamonds lie in their origin. Natural diamonds were formed millions to billions of years ago in Earth’s core, whereas laboratory grown diamonds are formed in a laboratory in just a few weeks. Think of it this way: laboratory-grown diamonds are like ice from your refrigerator, while natural diamonds are like ice from a glacier. They are both ice, although their formation stories and the age of each are very different.
Tok Jewellers offer both natural and lab grown diamonds.
